Boar of Florence
Boar of Florence: In front of the fish fountains was a big statue of a boar. Jeanna and I went to check it out and read that it was a reproduction of a famous statue by Pietro Tacca created in 1620 that sits in Straw Market in Florence, where for generations passers-by have rubbed his nose for luck. The base of the statue had an ornate base with a pool surrounded by plants, frogs, snakes and turtles. Taken July 19, 2002.
